MYTHOLOGY
The constellation would show two fish turns in opposite directions legacies for the tails from one rope. The meant of this rope still is covered from mystery, in how much the Greeks, also representing it, of it does not give some explanation: perhaps because the constellation had been invented from the Babylonian who had represented it with this rope and the Greeks inherited it losing of then the meant one. Just in correspondence of this constellation now is found the vernal point. Before this point, for the precession, was found in the Aries. The most shining star is alpha, call also Alrescha, from the Arabic "rope". To testimony of the Babylonian origin, the Greeks acclimatized the myth around to the Euphrates river,in the immediately successive period to the defeat of Titaniums against the gods. Gea, the mother Earth, coupling herself with Tartaro, the lower part of the hell where Zeus imprisoned Titaniums, said life to Tefeo, a flaming gigantic orrible monster from the hundreds heads of dragon. Esiodo narrates of its strange one noise which it was a bellow, a roar, a hissing of snake and sometimes also a yelp of puppy. Gea sent the monster against the gods: Pan sighted for first (see the constellation of the Capricorno), and advised they to camouflage themselves in animals. Aphrodite (for the Roman is Venus, the goddess of the beauty) and her son Eros (for the Roman Cupido, the God of the love),sheltered themselves in a cane-brake on the side of the Euphrates river: the wind scared the mother who invoked aid to the nymphs and jumped in water with the son in arm. According to some two fish would have given aid to the two bringing back them on own backs; according to others instead the two they would have been changed in fish, and is for this perhaps that the Syrians did not eat fish. According to Igino, instead, an egg fell in the Euphrates and two fish dragged to bank. After some doves it brooded and from it borned Aphrodite who ricompensed the two immortalize fish in the sky. According to Eratostene the two fish would be sons of the Austral Fish.
