MYTHOLOGY

This constellation is not in partnership to some myth, because of
recent introduction. It appeared in the astronomic atlas of
Johannes Bayer, that in his turn resumptioned from the celestial
papers of two navigators of the sixteenth century, the Dutchs
Frederick de Houtman and Pieter Dirkszoon Keyser. It represents
the bird of the Heaven, a very beautiful bird of the New World,
and it testifies the interest of the western civilization toward
the new horizons, the Americas.
